DIY sousveillance system
we made this wearable video recorder and took it on travel to russia.
this device consists of _almost_ unmodified wireless router (a la ASUS WL500g with HDD)
and a webcamera. the software running on the router (in a nutshell it is a mini linux box)
detects a view change and then makes a picture every one second.
i try to wear the set as often as i can, but the load of 0.5Ah is rather big
and a set of quad-AA battaries dies quickly.
it's kind of movable time lapse surveillance camera, i try to fix it to different places on myself or
sometimes other things. like cars, yachts, animals and night ghost riders.
everynow and then the device searches for open wi-fi networks around and when found
rsync-s the pictures with my server and empties the internal memory.
